Online Business Update: How to Get More Targeted Traffic?
Hey everyone, I hope your summer is going well so far. I am back with another update on how my online business is progressing.
As you can probably already tell from the title, getting more targeted traffic is the topic today.
However, before I go further into the obstacles I am facing, I would like to start off on a positive note.
Throughout my journey so far, I have come to realize that making money through the internet is quite possible. I have experienced it myself!
To date, I have made $550 USD through affiliate marketing and I was extremely excited when I got my first cheque in the mail.
I am anticipating another cheque for $100 this week.
Targeted Traffic Is the Key to a Successful Online Business
With that being said, my business has slowed down tremendously over the last week. I have found myself struggling to make sales consistently.
After thoughtful analysis, I have concluded that the solution to my problem is quite simple. All I would need to do is to attain more targeted buyer traffic to go through my sales funnel.
At the present moment, my sales funnel appears to be converting at a decent percentage. Although there is definitely a lot more room for optimization, this would be pointless if I do not attain more traffic.
Affiliate marketing is all about making more in sales than the amount you spend on paid advertising. Right now, I am finding it difficult to figure out a cost effective way to drive more targeted traffic.
I have tried solo ads, search engine ads, Facebook ads and even blog advertising. All these methods are a good way to generate leads but they can be quite expensive. I have actually grown tired of generating traffic through these methods.
The cost of advertising is not returned through the sales that I make. This means that currently my business is not profitable.
Where to find and drive targeted traffic?
This is the million dollar question that everybody is asking. To be honest, if I knew the answer to this question, I would be reporting better news.
With that being said, I believe that the best place to start is to first determine the demographics of your business and to find out where they hang out on the internet.
For example, my offer is a weight loss product. The demographics in this niche consists mainly of women between the age of 20 to 45.
After doing some research, I have found that the best place to target this demographic would be on Pinterest. This is where I will be focusing the majority of my efforts from now on.
Although I have used Pinterest in the past, I would not say that I am an expert. I have much to learn about this social media platform before I can take further action. That is why I am going to invest in the knowledge portion first before I start experimenting.
I will report back when there is something to report.
As a final note, if you’re a hustler like me, try to actually spend some time to enjoy the summer and take things at your pace. This is one piece of advice that I wished someone would had given me.
